Intercom upgrade Wilahara Towers, Queen Street, Brisbane

Wilahara Towers Apartments is a 26-story high-rise building in Brisbane with Queen Street Mall and New Farm Riverwalk nearby.

Our Solution

BAMSS was engaged by the building managers to audit the existing video intercom system as it was regularly breaking down and no one could fix it properly.  BAMSS identified the existing system was not installed as per the manufacturers specifications. Incorrect and different cable types had been used and the system layout was not correct.

The solution was to upgrade the system to the latest Aiphone video intercom.

The Aiphone system was chosen as the best solution as it would work with the existing cables from the units to the riser (cabling from the units to the riser could not be re cabled).  New backbone cabling was run between the risers and a re-design to the distribution points to create a balanced system that will be very stable and reliable.
